Threat of Criminal Justice Bribe Should More Weight Than Ordinary Citizens


Jakarta Hukumham, - Bribes undermine the judiciary as judges and prosecutors. To prevent such cases happen, the judge who took bribes was sentenced to be heavier than civil society.

According to professor of Trisakti University, Prof Dr Andi Hamzah, in accordance with Article 420 of the Criminal Code of judges who accept bribes could be at risk 12 years in prison. But in reality, not a bribe judge sentenced to 12 years.


"Judge indicted Tangerang Asnun of receiving bribes from Gayus Tambunan just sentenced to 3 years in prison, while deliknya qualified," said Andi Hamzah, the seminar birthday Judges Association of Indonesia (Ikahi) to 60 in Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday (27/3 / 2013).

Supposedly, according to Andi, the Draft Law on the Eradication of Corruption must be immediately addressed the House of Representatives. Andi Hamzah hopes that criminal penalties for judges who accept bribes heavier.

"I propose that a sentence of 15 years in prison for accepting bribes judge criminal cases and 10 years in prison for accepting a bribe judge non-criminal cases," said former prosecutor this.

According to him, this needs to be done to rid the world of judicial bribery case. Andi considered if a judge accepting a bribe then it is a global threat that the judiciary.

"Why should be more severe, because it is very dangerous if a judge may accept a bribe him as an enforcer of justice," he concluded.

KPK has grabbed six judges, five of whom had received binding verdict. Being investigated is the Vice Chairman of the Bandung District Court Setyabudi caught KPK on Friday (22/3) and then in the middle of his office received money from the litigants.  (JMart/Dtk)
